A sharp poster is not a video specification
The artwork on a movie page identifies the film. It does not tell you the resolution of every viewing offer. Use Watch now, choose your country and inspect the edition supplied by the viewing service. A film may have different resolution options across rental, subscription and other offers.
Match the picture to the screen
HD commonly refers to 720p or 1080p. A 1080p picture contains more pixels than 720p, while consumer 4K usually means 3840 by 2160. The difference you notice depends on screen size, viewing distance and the quality of the source. A larger television can make detail easier to appreciate than a small phone.
4K availability can depend on the device, subscription tier, browser, app and display connection. Check the selected service's requirements. A 4K television cannot turn an edition that is only supplied in HD into a genuine 4K source.
When the picture changes during playback
Some players adjust quality automatically as network conditions change. If the image softens, give it a moment to recover, pause other large transfers and test another device on the same connection. Selecting a lower resolution can be more comfortable than repeatedly waiting for a higher one to buffer.
For an unexpectedly dark picture, check the television's current picture mode and whether the chosen edition uses HDR. For dialogue problems, examine the audio track separately. Resolution is only one part of the viewing experience.
